In the early 1950’s a visionary named Walt Disney, purchased 160 acres of farm land in a little known community called Anaheim.  His creation became the standard for all amusement parks world-wide.  Today Orange County has a population of more than 3 million people.  This real estate phenomenon is occurring one last time here in Southern California.

The growth of Southern California is filled with stories about how the outlying suburbs of Los Angeles were never expected to develop.  In 1920, Beverly Hills was one such community, but when UCLA opened its campus there in 1927 that all changed.  Today Beverly Hills is considered one of the most exclusive cities in all of California, with land completely unobtainable.

In the early 1900’s Edgar Rice Burroughs author of the Tarzan novels, purchased a large tract of land in the San Fernando Valley.   Today no vacant land is left from that original tract of land it’s now a part of the City of Los Angeles.  This is one of the many stories of how Southern California grew from a sleepy pueblo into one of the largest cities in the US.
